If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why?

Well, I am already part wolf, so I guess I would be the mother of all current dog breeds. Ha! As for why – they are smart, loyal, family-oriented, and quite often misunderstood. Kind of like me.

Soup
What does the color purple make you think of?

Amy Squared and Chelle.

Salad
Approximately how long does it take you to get ready each morning?

Roll out of bed…..brush teeth….wash face…..stumble to my office. Usually takes about 5 minutes. Longer if I make a nice breakfast for myself. It’s so nice to work from home in Maui!

Main Course
How many cousins do you have, and are you close to them?

On Mom’s side – 4 cousins. I like them, but we live so far apart, I haven’t seen most of them for 10 years or so.

Dad’s side – 5 cousins. Again, we like each other. I am pretty close to two of my cousins who I have spent time with since I was a kid.

Dessert
Take your initials (first, middle, last) and come up with something else those letters could stand for. (Example: SFO = Sweet Funny Otter)

How about………Sarcastic Goof

What is your favorite type of art?

Ya know….I don’t think I have a favorite. I like good use of color – sometimes bold use of color. So, I end up liking different pieces by different artists. Some are classical, some are modern.

When I was taking a Native American Studies class at college, I learned that I really like the artwork of George Longfish.

When I visited the National Gallery in London, one of my favorite pictures was this one – The Courtyard of a House in Delft.” (1658), by Pieter de Hooch.

Soup
When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?

Hey! Never say there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Sweetie and I just got a free lunch at our wedding reception site on Tuesday when we met with the coordinator. Nice lunch, got to try the red wine and the white wine and the champagne. ‘Course, we’re spending a bunch of money there….soo….

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?

Let’s see…..*takes pulse*…..and…..yup…..I’m a woman. Let’s just say 11, shall we.

Main Course
Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?

Not that long, really. Especially since I’ve been so BAD lately about responding to e-mails. Even on good days, it’s probably 10 to 20 minutes.

Dessert
To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?

Wellll…..I don’t have a thermostat at home. No central heat and air at our home in Maui. Though we would love to have air conditioning during summer.

Using only one word, how does grocery shopping make you feel?

Can’t. Grocery shopping doesn’t make me feel any particular way. It just tends to reflect the mood I am already in. If it’s a casual day, I feel relaxed. Busy days – I may feel impatient while grocery shopping. When I grocery shop while wearing my shirt inside out, I feel mortified (ok, it wasn’t until I got home that I realized what I did. Then I felt mortified.)

Soup
What is your favorite part about the season of Autumn?

It’s not as cold as winter. Ha! I hate being cold.

I do like the colors. And yes, we had Autumn in California. It lasts about 3 days. HA! Here in Maui, however, there really is no such thing as Autumn.

Salad
Have you ever had any bad experiences online?

Thankfully, not really. I way overpaid once for a 1947 comic book on E-bay years ago, which pissed me off. But the rest of my buying and selling has been smooth. I’ve met people on-line, dated people I met online. Not one really bad experience among them.

Main Course
Name three things that make you happy daily.

My Sweetie. Staring out the window, where I can see the ocean and Haleakala (or the clouds around Haleakala most days). Music.

Dessert
What one household cleansing or organizing item would you not want to be without?

I guess I would have to say the basic – soap. If I had soap, I could still clean things, right?

If you could live in any ancient city during the height of the quality of its society and culture, which one would you choose?

I think, to learn about my own heritage, I would choose Geneva.

Some history:

Geneva was the name of a settlement of the Celtic people of the Allobroges. The name of Genava (or Genua) in Latin appeared for the first time in the writings of Julius Caesar in De Bello GallicoGallic Wars., his comments on the

After the Roman conquest it became part of the Provincia Romana (Gallia Narbonensis). In 58 BC, at Geneva, Caesar hemmed in the Helvetii on their westward march. In the 9th century it became the capital of Burgundy. Though Geneva was contested among Burgundians and Franks and the Holy Roman Emperors, in practice it was ruled by its Prince-bishops, until the Reformation, when Geneva became a republic.

The first of the Geneva Conventions was signed in 1864, to protect the sick and wounded

One of the most important events in Geneva’s history is l’Escalade (literally: “the scaling of the wall”). For the people of Geneva, l’Escalade is the symbol of their independence. It marked the final attempt in a series of assaults mounted throughout the 16th century by Savoy, which wanted to annex Geneva as its capital north of the Alps. This last assault happened on the night of 11-12 December 1602 and is celebrated yearly in the Old Town with numerous demonstrations and a parade of horses, cannons and armed men in period costumes.

Geneva, or officially the Canton & Republic of Geneva, became a canton of Switzerland in 1815.

The first of the Geneva Conventions was signed in 1864, to protect the sick and wounded in war time.

I would attend a church service. People wouldn’t know what to think of it. A celebrity?! She walked into this big building….with a…..oh what is that?……a steeple…..and what the heck is that?…….a bell tower?…….and what are they doing?…….they are talking, and listening, and singing!…..the scandal!……and shes saying outrageous things like “Don’t get high and then drive your car!”….and Don’t neglect your own kids!…..we’ve never seen a celebrity act this way! Holy crap.

Dessert
What do you consider the ideal age to have a first child?

uhhh…..what? Whenever two parents are somewhat financially, emotionally, and mentally ready. Not that any couple is ever exactly ready. But once you are – go for it. Be you 22 or 32 or 42.

Describe your laundry routine. Do you have a certain day when you do it all, or do you just wash whatever you need for the next day?

Routine? I prefer chaos, thank you very much.

Pile laundry. Pile until there is enough laundry to sort, or until I can’t walk into my closet anymore.

Sort laundry. Wash laundry. Dry laundry, while hanging various articles of clothing over doorknobs. Take warm, dry, clean laundry out of dryer and toss onto guest bed. Close door until I need a fresh towel or shirt. I hate folding laundry.

Wash, rinse, repeat.
